National Cancer Screening Program

Detecting Cancer Detecting Cancer-The most effective way to protect yourself from cancer is early detection

The National Cancer Screening Program (NCSP) was designed to provide free screening services for the low-income Medical Aid recipients in 1999. Since then, the NCSP has expanded its target population to include some of The National Health Insurance (NHI) beneficiaries. Currently, the program targets the six most common sites of cancer in Korea; stomach, liver, colorectum, breast, cervix uteri, and lung (Lung cancer screening was newly introduced in 2019). The National Cancer Center (NCC) supports developing and revising the protocols for the NCSP in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW) and related academic societies.
